The Glow TV Miss Uniworld South Africa was officially crowned on Saturday night at a glamourous ceremony held at Izulu Theatre in Sibaya. The winner will jet off to Singapore in September representing South Africa at an international pageant. The pageant steers away from the norms of pageantry highlighting the worth of each individual. The purpose is to showcase dynamic young individuals from diverse backgrounds and community, who have served, helped and empowered through various means.

Tonight, the amazing event showcased a talent segment with local and international artists while the casual and evening segment takes place tomorrow. The purpose of the pageant is to showcase dynamic young individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities who have served, helped and empowered others through various means.
The cold weather did not dampen the spirits of hundreds of women, who proudly took on the annual Women in Action race, earlier this morning. Hosted by the Rising Sun Chatsworth and sponsored by the Checkout chain of stores, this initiative that is also opened to men definitely brings the community together year after year. The spirit of camaraderie and enthusiasm was evident throughout the morning. Well done to all participants for successfully completing the race.

In commemoration of Youth Day, an exciting Art in the Park competition was held at Gandhi’s Park, earlier today. The competition was free of charge and all were welcome. The aim of the event was to allow youngsters to express themselves through drawings and photographs, irrespective of their race, age, gender and social status.
