Golden anniversary celebrations for Woodhurst couple

Mr and Mrs Naicker are looking forward to celebrating 50 years of marriage.

Woodhurst couple, Krishna Naicker (72) and his wife, Logie Muniamma (70) believe that the key ingredients to a successful marriage are love, happiness and friendship. They will be celebrating 50 years of marital bliss next Saturday.

In an interview with the loving pair, they told journalists of their first meeting. Mr Naicker instantly fell in love when he laid eyes on Logie while visiting her neighbour in Bayview.

He said, “It was love at first sight for me. When we first met, she was nervous and I felt overjoyed.” They tied the knot at a traditional Tamil wedding ceremony at the Sungum Temple a year after knowing each other. Their wedding ceremony was a memorable occasion with 400 loved ones in attendance. At the time of their wedding, Krishna was 22 while he was wife was 20. They were blessed with five children and nine grandchildren.

In their spare time, Krishna enjoys watching TV, reading and gardening while Logie enjoys cooking for the family, watching TV and spending time with her friends and family.

“The journey hasn’t always been easy but God has seen us through. We thankful to God for our children and grandchildren who are very important to us,” they concluded.
