Experience an exciting outdoor movie at night

For the opening of the Bioscope under the Stars night on Saturday, September 16, the captivating family movie, 'Jungle Book' will be screened.

Bioscope under the Stars (BUS) is a new and exciting initiative of the Nelson Mandela Chatsworth Youth Centre and is guaranteed to attract a lot of interest.

In the beautiful safe surroundings of the youth centre in the basketball court area, plans are in place to show movies at night on a huge digital screen as a fundraising initiative of the centre.

It’s going to be a wonderful family experience with people bringing along their pillows, blankets, beanbags, mats, picnic baskets, braai stands, food and refreshments. Seats are not allocated, so residents need to arrive early to get the best viewing spot.

For the opening of the Bioscope under the Stars night on Saturday, September 16, the captivating family movie, ‘Jungle Book’ will be screened. The movie focuses on a boy named Mowgli, a little ‘man-cub’ who was raised in the jungle by a family of wolves. He embarks on a journey of self-discovery when he forced to abandon the only home he has ever known.

Attendees can enjoy a picnic under the stars on the movie night in a family friendly atmosphere that is reminiscent to the days people used to frequent the drive-ins. They can carry a braai stand and have it placed in an area away from the big screen. People can be seated from 4pm while listening to some live entertainment.

The movie starts at 5pm with an intermission half-way into the movie. There will also be entertainment after the movie if people stay on.

The movie night is a fundraiser for the youth centre and tickets are R30 per person and R100 for a family of four or five people (adults and children). Entry is free to children under seven-years-old.

Tickets are limited and can be obtained from the youth centre during the week. If there is inclement weather on the day of the event, the movie will be screened inside the hall. For more information, contact Clive Pillay on 061-429-2574.
