“What is required of me is to be an ambassador of my country and best represent South Africa internationally. I have to give off my best in each segment and throughout my stay to win this pageant. At the pageant, where I was one of the top 10 finalists in SA and the only KZN representative, I won the following titles: first princess in Miss Supranational SA 2017, Miss Grand South Africa in 2017, Miss Debutante, Miss Public Choice and Best National Costume which was designed by MorQ.
I was the only contestant to take five awards and three crowns. I must thank the public for voting for me which placed me as Miss Public Choice and my sponsors which enabled to win Miss Debutante. I must also thank MorQ for designing and sponsoring my national wear which made me win the Best National Wear. Thank you to Nadine Designs for designing and sponsoring my evening wear which made me look glamorous in all my crowning photographs,” she said.
Apart from modeling, Debideen is a qualified Audiologist and plans to one day obtain her doctorate in the field. Her goals are to walk international runways and win as many beauty pageants as possible by promoting South Africa and South African fashion on a global platform.
“I aim to place South Africa on the map and give South Africa international recognition. I hope to open a private practice where I can create a free hearing screening programme for the underprivileged. I aim to become a world renowned model and continue participating in as many international beauty pageants as possible. My goal is to use this title to make a difference in society and not use the title for my own benefit. I aim to involve myself in social upliftment causes and women empowerment,” she said.
