IFFSKSA hosts autumn camp at Arena Park Regional Hall

The International Federation of Funakoshi Shotokan Karate South Africa (IFFSKSA) conducted its first autumn camp at the Arena Park Regional Hall, recently.

This course was attended by many karatekas affiliated to the organisation and focused on intense and exhilarating kumite techniques and kata training, which was displayed by the organisation’s head coach, Sensei Malvin Govender (5th dan) and the founder, president and chief instructor, Kyoshi Eric Govender (7th dan).

The PRO of the organisation, Jay Moodley said that the aim of conducting a course of this nature was to develop young karatekas by concentrating on the technical training methods and techniques that are associated not only to competitive sport karate but also the traditional part of the sport.

“IFFSKSA, under the excellent leadership of Kyoshi Eric Govender, aims to develop these young athletes in becoming the future stars of the country,” he explained.

Govender who was pleased with the support shown from parents to ensure the future success of their children complimented the head coach, Sensei Malvin Govender and his team for ensuring the development of these athletes.
