A ‘hoop’ of success for local sporting club

Woodhurst Sporting’s netball junior teams participated at the Chatsworth Netball Union junior opening tournament, recently.

The club received positive results after their under 13 team scooped the winning spot in their division and won all their preliminary games including the finals, following the under 15 division team who were runners-up. The under 11 team did the club proud with their dedicated participation in their very first time competing.

Woodhurst Sporting Netball Club announced their appreciation to sponsors, Robert Subramoney, Bazil Lanka, Kevin Abraham, Fruit and Veg City Malvern, KZN Alloy Metals, Tykike Hiring for their contributions toward their junior teams during their season. The club also thanked parents for their contribution towards the team kit and support on the day.

Club president, Kelly Moonsamy said, “I would like to thank all our sponsors, supporters, parents, players and officials for their involvement with the club. The girls’ enthusiasm towards the sport has brought victory to the club and this is a great achievement to all players.”

The club believes and stands by their love and friendship that goes beyond any competitor. The club’s intention is to initiate the participation and develop the youth in netball around the community. Members of the club strongly believe that this initiative would play a significant role in the fight against the various social ills that plague the community.
