Celebrating Earth and its beauty

International Mother Earth Day was observed under the theme of environmental and climate literacy, recently.  The day is annually commemorated around the world on April 22 and serves as a reminder that the Earth and its ecosystems provide life forms with shelter and sustenance.

It also recognises the collective responsibility which was created in the 1992 Rio Declaration, with the goal of promoting harmony with nature and the Earth to achieve balance with the economy, social and environmental needs of the present and future generations of humanity.

International Mother Earth Day is an opportunity to raise public awareness around the world about challenges that face the well-being of the planet and all the life that dwells of it.
