Improve your health at the Rising Sun Freedom Marathon

The Rising Sun Chatsworth Freedom Marathon, which consists of the 52km, the 21km run and 10km run/ walk will sweep across Chatsworthon Sunday, April 23, 2017 and the place will be buzzing with a hive of activity. But all this hype will begin as early as 5:30am while the vast majority of the residents are fast asleep.

To be part of this great event and to benefit health wise, community members, both young and old, are encouraged to participate in the 10km run/walk event which will start about 6am. Running and walking improves both your body and mood. You dispel the morose, stubborn, negative side for a brighter optimistic and jovial personality as you socialize with a new set of keep-fit friends. The following are some of the many benefits derived from walking and running:

  • It raises your levels of good cholesterol
  • Increases lung function
  • Boosts your immune system and lowers the risk of blood clot
  • Helps to lower the risk of breast cancer, stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure and osteoporosis.

The 10km run/ walk event is especially structured for the community to come out and be part of this great race. Rising Sun photographers will be any along this route, snapping up and recording the brave achievements of mothers, fathers and the young ones.
