KFC Mini-Cricket Kids all geared up for upcoming tournament

The KFC Mini-Cricket Kids from a local school were recently coached by Mfuneko Ngam in preparation for their KFC Mini-Cricket Kids vs Proteas Tour Match which will take place on February 13.

The little cricketers had a lot of fun and they learned some new skills. In turn, Mfuneko had the amazing opportunity to see the talent that KwaZulu-Natal can produce.

Below are some interesting facts about the KFC Mini-Cricket programme:

  • KFC has been a sponsor of the KFC Mini-Cricket programme since 2010, and has recently renewed its sponsorship of the KFC Mini-Cricket programme for another ten years until 2025.
  • Since KFC started sponsoring the KFC Mini-Cricket programme, the programme has grown by over 37 percent with over 114 000 kid getting active with KFC Mini-Cricket.
  • KFC is involved in KFC Mini-Cricket to encourage kids to live active lifestyles
  • KFC Mini-Cricket forms a critical foundation step in the development of South Africa’s future cricketing heroes and is the first step in Cricket South Africa’s ‘pipeline to the Proteas’.
  • The KFC Mini-Cricket programme has:
    • Over 114 000 kids actively participating in the programme
    • 8774 coaches getting kids active
    • 5584 schools enrolled in the programme
