Woman arrested for boyfriend’s murder in Wentworth

A 20-year-old woman appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court after she was arrested for stabbing her boyfriend in Wentworth, on Sunday.

According to reports, Wentworth SAPS were called to a house in Genoa Road after the 25-year-old man was allegedly stabbed by his girlfriend. He later succumbed to his multiple injuries.

A witness told the police that he heard a car park outside and the doors banging.  A few minutes later, he heard some noise at the back of the outbuilding and went to check what was happening.  “The informant had stated that he noticed the victim walking up the stairs towards the main building. He was bleeding profusely,” said Wentworth SAPS communications officer, Cpt MP Gumede.

The victim was rushed to hospital by family members with a private motor vehicle. He had sustained multiple stab wounds to the right arm, left shoulder, left eyebrow and chest. He died upon arrival at the hospital.

“The suspect was detained and charged for murder later that day.  The detectives are currently investigating the case. The motive and instrument used to commit the crime is unknown,” added Cpt Gumede.
