Clairwood Tamil Institute brings joy to children

Disney mascots kept the children well entertained.

The Clairwood Tamil Institute held its ninth annual Children’s Toy Story Drive, recently.  It was one of the biggest and most anticipated social projects on the institute’s calender as the project which was started nine years ago with a mere 74 children, has grown extensively throughout the years.  It has reached an overwhelming number of 700 children from various backgrounds in the area of Clairwood.

The children were invited to a day of fun-filled activities and surprises. The day started with Disney character mascots doing a parade through the area which built up the excitement in the community. Each child was welcomed by the Disney character mascots and were treated to a carnival themed day. There were quad bike rides, pony rides, jumping castles, a mechanical bull, mechanical swing, train ride, face painting an arcade room among many other exciting activities available for the children to enjoy.

After the rides and games, each child received a wholesome lunch, a gift from Santa, and hygiene, stationery and party packs to take home for the festive season. The Clairwood Tamil Institute believes that putting a smile on a child’s face is the greatest blessing one can receive. The organisation thanked their volunteers and sponsors for their support on the project.
