Exciting New Year flea-markets

The Inner-Circle Flea-Market at the Nelson Mandela Chatsworth Youth Centre will get rolling again in February 2017.

After engaging flea shoppers and stall-holders, the market will take on a new format when it opens on Sunday, February 5.

A number of suggestions have been forwarded about placement of stalls, finding a bigger variety of food and craft stalls, entertainment, publicity, themes for each market and other exciting changes. More importantly, the market will be set out differently for everyone’s convenience and enjoyment.

With changes to the market, there will be more emphasis on quality instead of quantity. There will be lesser stalls but stall prices will remain the same. Clive Pillay from the youth centre explained, “We have been on a continuous learning curve regarding the organising of the market. It is a community market with all funds raised from stall payments going to the youth centre upkeep. We have taken all the suggestions into consideration and reorganised the market to accommodate to everyone. With lesser stalls we will be very strict with stall applications and payments.”

Stall-holders wanting stalls for the next market on Sunday, February 5 must visit to the youth centre this Friday or Saturday between 10am and 12pm to make payments. There are also plans being put in place to have regular night markets with a carnival atmosphere. For more information, call Clive Pillay on 061-429-2574 or email [email protected]
