Mother and son arrested for drug dealing

A 51-year-old woman and her 20-year-old son were arrested for dealing in drugs and being in possession of drugs in Bayview, last Friday.

The arrests were made by eThekwini Inner South Cluster Crime Prevention Unit and Chatsworth Crime Intelligence Unit. Police reports indicated that 53 capsules, suspected to be heroin, were recovered.

The unit, which has made numerous arrests in the Bayview area, forms part of Maj Gen Nunkumar’s commitment to eradicate the drugs epidemic in the Bayview policing area.

Communications officer of the Bayview SAPS, W/O Collin Chetty, said, “The partnership between the communities and the SAPS has yielded positive results.  We urge our communities to share information on drugs and drug trafficking in the Bayview policing area so that we can combat the drug scourge effectively.”
