St Monica’s children educated on human trafficking

Sgt Fynn highlighted various aspects during her address.

Police officers from the Wentworth SAPS and FCS unit conducted an awareness campaign, recently.

With the holidays approaching and the recent scourge of cases relating to rape and abduction and human trafficking within the area and surrounding areas, it was decided to educate the children, who are vulnerable targets of these crimes and the safety precautions to be taken.

Communications officer of Wentworth SAPS, Cpt Mbuso Gumede said the programme was organised by, reservist, WO Khan from the Wentworth SAPS, who included Sgt Fynn, a member of the FCS unit.

Sgt Fynn educated the children on what is human trafficking and rape and other cases related to the sexual offences act.

About 40 young girls were in attendance and all had the opportunity to ask questions which were answered. The children were served with snacks which were sponsored by WO Khan.
