Nursing students tackle substance abuse at Fairvale Secondary

The students of UKZN and pupils of Fairvale Secondary School at the informative initiative.

Fourth year nursing students from UKZN visited Fairvale Secondary School to highlight and raise awareness on substance abuse, recently.

They were joined by a policeman from Wentworth SAPS as well as mental health care patients, who have experienced substance abuse disorders.

They also spoke of the consequences of drug and alcohol abuse.

The students have been working with the peer mentors of the school who had informed them of how big the issue of substance abuse is and how it needs to be tackled.
