The Fairvale Girls Going Global Empowerment Initiative was successfully launched at Fairvale Secondary School in Wentworth.
The brainchild of Nerina Meth, the launch event saw a group of 30 Fairvale girls being hosted, pampered and inspired by a dedicated team of volunteers who are all former Fairvale pupils.
The initiative is aimed at grade 11 girls, with a mission to empower young women through mentorship.
The mentors, who are alumni of Fairvale Secondary School, are all in leadership or professional roles within their careers.
They will offer their time and experience to invest in these girls and support the beneficiaries of this initiative in their individual pursuits.
Founder, Nerina Meth said, “This initiative is about hope, and inspiring young girls with potential to dream big, believing in themselves, and know that they have big sisters who will support them along the way.”
The fun-filled event saw mentors sharing their personal journeys with the young women, inspiring and reminding them that their dreams are achievable.
They were taught about the benefits of networking, letting go of insecurities and building sisterly bonds.
The day surpassed any expectations that organisers had and it was refreshing to see how eager the girls were about being a part of this initiative.
