Investigations are continuing after a 17-year-old Isipingo teenager was allegedly stabbed by a pupil during an altercation on Saunders Avenue, last week.
Provincial police spokesman, Lt Col Thulani Zwane confirmed the incident.
“It is alleged that the victim was returning from school when he was chased by the suspect, who was with his other friends. The pupil was stabbed three times in the back,” he explained.

Lt Col Zwane added that the motive of the attack is not known at this stage.
Isipingo police arrested a 14-year-old suspect, who was charged for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court, recently.
According to bystanders, a pupil who provoked the attack, was apprehended by a private security response member.
Isipingo Hills CPF members witnessed the incident and quickly relayed the message via the WhatsApp crime groups.
Alpha Alarms Response was dispatched to the scene and was met by a private security service together with Isipingo Hills CPF members. An ambulance service responded to the scene as well.
The victim was treated and transported to the police station where he was met by his family members.
