Two men were arrested and appeared in the Chatsworth Magistrate’s Court on charges of theft following a church robbery in Crossmoor, last week.
The accused, aged 45 and 25, were released on bail and will reappear at court on October 23.

Communications officer of the eThekwini Inner South cluster, Cpt Cheryl Pillay, said, it is alleged that the suspects had stolen chairs, gas burners, crockery and a water pump estimated at R 100, 000.
“Det Cpt Ramcharan, together with a team of investigating officers from the Chatsworth SAPS, received information from the complainant regarding the theft,” she explained.

The team acted swiftly, resulting in the arrest of the accused and the recovery of 197 chairs.
Acting station commander of Chatsworth SAPS, Col Trevor Small, commended the investigators for their dedication and commitment towards securing the arrests of the alleged perpetrators and the recovery of the stolen items.
