It is often said that the positive action combined with the correct mindset results in success and for W/O Mandla Antony Mnyandu, abiding by these profound words daily assisted him greatly in achieving his dream of graduating with a diploma in law from UKZN.
Today, the 56-year-old police officer, stationed at Brighton Beach SAPS, is determined to make a meaningful contribution in society by joining the concepts of forensics and criminology.
Mnyandu who is a resident of Lotus Park in Isipingo said that he drew inspiration from leaders of the Old Apostolic Church of South Africa (KZN).
He has been serving as a police officer for 28 years and is motivated by the fact that forensics and criminology are not popular concepts among many yet a lot can be done by marrying the two.
“My message to the youth is for them to remember that the function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critical. It will always be a challenge to work full time while studying, but with the support from my family, senior church leaders and colleagues, it was made possible,” Mnyandu said.
In his spare time, he enjoys getting involved in church activities and assisting in his church.
