Men and women in blue host special prayer service

Station commander of the Chatsworth SAPS, Brig Coenraad Marais, senior management, Pastor Takalani, Dr Cyril Pillay and members of the Chatsworth Youth Desk at the special prayer.

The Chatsworth SAPS held an Easter service in partnership with faith-based organisations within the cluster, last week. The service commenced with a candle-lighting ceremony in remembrance of the fallen heroes in the police force.

Acting cluster commander, Maj Gen Mandlekosi Chirwa, expressed his gratitude to the personnel for their dedication towards the organisation especially the men and blue, who performed operational duties over the Easter weekend.

Maj Gen Chirwa also called on police officers to embrace their calling as police officers as they journey together towards a safer South Africa.

“God will never give his children a responsibility if He thinks they will not be able to carry. As we, the foot soldiers, walk this road of empowering our communities, let us build bridges and lead in the forefront of protecting woman and children,” he said.

The Chatsworth SAPS Youth Desk led the service with praise and worship songs. These young ambassadors are encouraging the youth to form part of youth crime prevention and social outreach projects.

Communications officer of the EIS cluster, Cpt Cheryl Pillay, said Pst Takalani Mufamadi of Grace Tabernacle (Wentworth) formed part of the prayer session encouraging personnel to support and care for each other.
