Fortnite Battle Royale arriving on Android and iOS with PS4 and PC cross-platform play

Fortnite Battle Royale is coming to Android and iOS! And what’s more is that it’s not like the pared down version of the smash hit game like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ (PUBG) mobile efforts via Tencent.

On mobile devices, Fortnite is the same 100-player experience on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Epic claims that it will be the “same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates.”

From 12th March 2018, players can sign up for an invite event on iOS. Android support is on the way in the next few months. To take part, you’ll need an Internet connection and iOS 11 on at least an iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, or iPad 2017 devices.

Perhaps what’s shocking is that Fortnite Battle Royale will support cross-platform play and cross progression. What this means is you and your friends can play together regardless of the device they’re using.

That is of course if the device in question is anything but an Xbox One, Xbox One S, or Xbox One X. This is limited to PS4, PC, iOS, and eventually Android. This is possible, Epic says, through it’s partnership with Sony, which appears to leave those on the Xbox One family of consoles out of the action.
