Shallcross Library hosts anti-bullying programme

Pupils, guest speakers and library staff at the informative programme.

Due to the recent spate of bullying videos which went viral over various social media platforms, the Shallcross Library hosted a workshop on bullying for grade seven pupils from Parklands Primary School, recently.

There were a number of speakers invited including local attorney, Previn Vedan, who is also a leader from the Shallcross youth movement, SHAYOMO.

Sam Pillay from the Anti-Drug Forum gave the attendees a motivational talk as well. Also present was Sandir Sewmungal, author of the book, ‘The Unknown Journey,’ which deals with his experience on bullying while growing up.

The programme concluded with Vickie and his team from the Funda’zophila Foundation who conducted an educational awareness programme on bullying using the Bullyboogie Board Game. Thereafter, refreshments were served to all sponsored by Checkout Shallcross.
