Youth to benefit from environmental programmes

Grade seven pupils from AYS Primary School are looking forward to the upcoming environmental programmes.

Considering that the youth are future custodians of the environment, the Food for Life Children’s Projects has teamed up with various esteemed environmental societies and will be hosting a series of seminars and workshops for Chatsworth schools in 2018, on various themes relating to environmental education.

At a recent meeting with various societies such as WESSA, Greenpeace, EarthLife Africa, The Habitat Foundation, Imagine Durban,the KZN Enviromental Network and others, it was decided that the first topic should focus on Marine Ecology and should be structured towards grade seven pupils.

Food for Life Children’s Projects also previously partnered with Food and Trees for Africa and hosted a successful workshop on food security and sustainable agriculture at the Northdene Agro-Eology Research Center.

The Food for Life Children’s Projects also participates annually in the Sustainable Living Exhibition and works in partnership, with respect to school networking etc with the eThekwini Municipality Imagine Durban Programme. For more information, email [email protected]
