Shallcross Library raises awareness on substance abuse

Pupils of Wingen Heights Secondary School together with staff of the Shallcross Library.

The Shallcross Library hosted a programme to create awareness on substance abuse. Three high schools from the greater Shallcross area were invited to participate. The students listened to presentations from various experts and community leaders, who highlighted the dangers of substance abuse.

The programme also included the value of reading and a tour of some of the facilities at the Library. Lunch packs were provided by the Food for Life Children’s Projects. Manager of the FFL Children’s Projects, Divesh Maharaj indicated that FFL was happy to partner with various libraries in the greater Chatsworth area in order to facilitate such outreach programmes.
