Teachers encourage pupils to excel in academic languages

While most schools only offer one language as their first additional language, St Mary’s Primary School provides pupils from grade one to seven a choice between IsiZulu and Afrikaans as a first additional language.

What is important to note is that the language a child chooses in primary school will be the language they carry until matric which is a rule that cannot be changed.

St Mary’s equipped its brand new language centre which offers its pupils a choice between both the languages so that pupils are not forced to pick a particular language that could have a negative effect on their matric results later in their schooling career. Their enrollment for 2018 is now open and management will admit on a first come first serve basis.
