Local musician hits the right notes

Sydney Naidoo has always had a passion for singing.

Former Chatsworth resident, Sydney Naidoo has been taking the musical industry by storm and is also lending his melodious voice for Hindi and Tamil films made locally and internationally.

Despite his numerous accolades and achievements, Naidoo believes in giving back to his community and is currently preparing to participate at the Merebank Fair.

The musical maestro and cultural ambassador also released his latest CD entitled, ‘Kagal Thatte- clap your hands’ recently and has dedicated it to his fans, who have always supported him. Speaking to Naidoo, he said that he would also like to extend his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Siva Naidoo of the Men in Black group for his advice and unwavering support.

“I grew up watching my beautiful mother sing and also loved watching Indian playback singers perform. This inspired me to become a singer. I love performing on stage and also enjoy singing in different languages. I am also an international playback singer and my goal is to inspire others to follow their dreams,” he said.

The talent artist was awarded the opportunity to sing alongside many visiting artists from India such Kumar Sanu and Yesildess. “I would also like to create cultural awareness through as much as possible throughout South Africa and inspire the youth to embrace their culture. Charity is close to my heart and I contribute to various non-profitable organisations such as the Chatsworth Hospice.” The artist will perform at the Merebank Fair alongside his daughter.

In his spare time, he enjoys singing in various languages like Tamil and Malayanum and loves being actively involved in martial arts.
