Dawnridge pupils enjoy fun-filled athletics meeting

Drummies entertained the pupils and parents at the event.

The principal and staff of Dawnridge Primary School treated their pupils to a fun-filled athletics meeting at the Chatsworth Stadium, last Friday. The director of sports and principal, Mr SN Pillay, emphasised the importance of sports in schools.

“It is important to expose pupils to all aspects of learning including, athletics and sports.  Extra-curricular activities give pupils the opportunity to express their talents as well as to be motivated,” he said. Many pupils who excel on the sports field go on to represent the Montford Sub-Zone, CADSSA and the Umlazi District.  The ‘Drummies’ are always one of the highlights at the annual athletics event.

The principal of the school also thanked the generous sponsors, the parents who attended, and staff for their dedication and commitment in ensuring the success of the 2017 athletics meeting.
