The family of a man who went missing in December last year were shattered when the DNA results of their beloved son matched the DNA of the skeletal remains, which were found in Welbedacht, recently.

Montford father, Cliffy Pillay, who received the DNA results on Friday, said the family held their hopes high and continuously prayed for the DNA results to come back negative and wished that one day their son, Rowan Pillay, would once again walk through the doors of their home in his usual joyful manner.

“We are devastated but find solace in the fact that we have finally received closure. The details surrounding the nature of his death are still unknown,” added Pillay. Rowan is survived by his parents, fiancé, daughter, sister and niece.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, March 5, at the Wyebank Funeral Parlour on 26 Herman Drive, Moorton, from 10am to 1pm, thereafter proceeding to the Mobeni Heights Crematorium at 2pm. For more information, contact Cliffy on 083-777-9761.
