The body of the woman, who was found beheaded at the Shallcross Sports Grounds, has been identified as 39-year-old Desiree Murugan.

Speaking to the Rising Sun Newspapers exclusively, from their family home in Natureview Street, Croftdene, Chris Murugan, brother of the deceased, said, “My sister was a loving and caring person, who unfortunately was lured into drugs. We are battling to come to terms with the barbaric manner in which our sister was murdered. Even if she was raped, the least they could have done was let her live. How can human beings even think of beheading another human being? They got nothing out of killing my sister. Our family is shocked at the horrific murder and hope the perpetrators are caught and punished appropriately.”
